PennApps is the largest college hackathon in the world. PennApps Spring 2013 was over the weekend of Jan 18-20, 2013. 450+ students came from across the world to build hacks and compete for over $25,000 worth of prizes!
You can see the list of winners on our prizes page; all hacks are on HackerLeague! First place went to Inventory, from UC Berkeley, winning $4000, a trip to Google NYC to demo their hack, and automatic entry into Greylock Hackfest 2. Second place went to Virtual Perspective, from ETH Zurich, winning $2500. Third place went to Webtube, from Penn, winning $1000.

40 Hours of Hacking
The only thing you'll need to worry about when you get here is hacking. We'll take care of the rest. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, (energy) drinks, some awesome PennApps and sponsor swag, a place to sleep- all gratis.
Awesome experience
With various side events like a nerf gun fight, midnight run, raffles, video game room, and more, you're going to have a great time both during and outside of hacking. As a past participant put it, "The worst part of PennApps is coming back to the real world."
Open to all students
PennApps is open to current undergraduate and graduate students at all schools. Students at past PennApps have come from as far as Michigan, McGill University, and Duke University, and we will be expanding even further across the nation in the spring.
